Dan is a seasoned facilitator/mediator, public involvement specialist, and organizational conflict manager. Dan has worked in 14 states with a wide variety of federal, state, county, and city agencies, as well as a diverse public, special interest groups, and corporations. Dan focuses his work in the western United States and brings a long history of working in controversial natural resource and public policy issues. His background and experience help to build trust in communities and help parties create holistic solutions that address needs and interests. Dan is also known for his experience in business/community development - both as a small business owner and an organizational development consultant.

With The Langdon Group Bryant adds to an experienced career in the public involvement, public relations and journalism fields. Most recently, Bryant served as a Public Affairs Specialist with the Idaho Transportation Department, where he was responsible for media/public relations and public involvement in southwest Idaho, the state’s most populous region. A certified public participation practitioner, he has worked with urban and rural communities to address current transportation needs and to plan for future demands on the transportation system. Bryant is an experienced facilitator with the ability to reach people at varying levels of interest and involvement, resulting in balanced and constructive participation among group members. He also possesses a rich understanding of roadway design and construction and is experienced in working directly with construction contractors and subcontractors

Justin brings a diverse set of communications skills to the Langdon Group, ranging from public involvement expertise to strategic campaigns and messaging to electronic and online communication. He comes to the agency from the Utah Department of Transportation, where he has worked most recently as a Public Involvement Coordinator in the Salt Lake City metro area. At UDOT Justin has worked on a wide cross-section of transportation projects, managing the public involvement efforts of as many as 20 projects at any one time. Having worked at varying levels of government, most prominently as Utah Gov. Olene Walker’s Assistant Deputy for Communication, Justin has a big-picture perspective for application at the grass-roots level. He is adept at working with widely diverse stakeholder groups and specializes in building strong relationships through excellent written and verbal presentation skills.

Darla has a background of weaving together communication campaigns, marketing activities and media relations, public involvement planning and facilitation. She is adept at building productive relationships with stakeholders and project team members alike. Darla has an innate sensibility about working on a one-to-one basis with stakeholders, and tends to their concerns in a way that is often a “win-win” in the end. She is also known for her exceptional organizational and project management skills. Her broad experience, which includes time in the Public Affairs office at the Idaho Transportation Department, involves creating and implementing all aspects of campaigns, from media relations and stakeholder involvement to special event management and online communications. Darla is skilled at crafting strategic messages and public information materials, and facilitates public involvement activities at all phases of the process. She is equally at ease discussing a construction project on site as around a meeting table. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Oregon.

Stephanie has 21 years experience in the public involvement/communications field. Her work history includes an award-winning career as a broadcast journalist in Phoenix, Arizona and Boise, Idaho. She served as the Public Involvement Coordinator for the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) and helped implement the Department’s Guide to Public Involvement for Development of Highway Projects. Stephanie led the public involvement for the I-84 Soundwalls project which included innovative outreach tools such as mobile meetings in neighborhoods and local shopping centers, life-size displays, and door-to-door outreach. The project was recognized with the 2008 ITD Excellence in Engineering Award for Public Participation, Large Project. Stephanie particularly enjoys working on National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) projects including Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) and Environmental Assessments (EA) and has a great deal of experience coordinating public involvement activities with environmental studies. She is a graduate of several NEPA trainings, professional facilitators training and mediation training. She has an extensive background in writing for print and broadcast, media relations, and crisis communications.

Carri Hulet has a B.A. in Political Science from Tufts University and a mediation certificate from Mediation Works, Inc. Carri has mediated dozens of conflict situations, and is experienced in facilitating large groups. Carri particularly enjoys working one-on-one with clients and members of the public to identify numerous potential solutions to difficult situations, and in helping individuals work with others to make collaborative decisions. Before joining The Langdon Group, Carri was a project manager with two non-profit organizations, and worked as a researcher and practitioner with the Massachusetts Office of Dispute Resolution and Public Collaboration.

Siobhan Locke is a public involvement and conflict resolution specialist who brings a wide range of skills in the field, including a strong mediation background. Ms. Locke joins the Langdon Group with a diversity of experience working with the public in projects in Utah and specializes in one-on-one stakeholder interaction, decision making by consensus, and facilitation. Siobhan also has a strong background in graphics, photography, layout and design which are all strong components of presenting information and education of stakeholders for a given project.
Lucy Park provides administrative support for the public involvement specialists of The Langdon Group. Lucy is a qualified technical editor and applies her skills to the variety of communication pieces required for public involvement, including technical and public materials. Her experience in marketing communication has added to the success of the team in both the creative process and in managing public events. Lucy also assists in developing funding for projects. She is invested in public involvement and believes it is instrumental in establishing a transparent and successful public process.

Andy brings to the Langdon Group a wealth of experience in the transportation industry. He comes to the agency from the Utah Department of Transportation, where he served as public involvement coordinator for UDOT's Region One for eight years. Andy's responsibilities included media relations, managing all public involvement/information activities, representing UDOT on numerous external and internal committees and oversight of a project-specific public information manager program. Andy's knowledge of the transportation industry encompasses the planning, environmental, design, construction and maintenance phases of project delivery. He is skilled at writing, messaging, packaging and delivering public information. Prior to working at UDOT, Andy worked as a community relations representative for the Utah Transit Authority, where he helped prepare Utahns for the advent of the TRAX light rail system.
Joshua is known for his ability to creatively solve problems at both the individual and mass communication levels to resolve conflict and build consensus. Having worked with various state and municipal clients on several transportation, water, and beautification projects, Joshua understands many of the challenges faced by clients. He is very good at building relationships of trust between the client and key publics by facilitating open and honest communication. Joshua has helped plan several successful ground-breakings, open houses and ribbon cuttings. Joshua has experience in media relations, including press release writing, and creates collateral using print and Web design knowledge. He is fluent in Portuguese and proficient in conversational Spanish.
Blake is a public involvement specialist with a background in communication and public outreach. He specializes in collaboration between key interest groups, and has experience researching and developing a grassroots campaign to reach target audiences. He worked with the Utah Department of Transportation on the Logan Canyon project, during which time he coordinated regularly with stakeholders, researched and administered project surveys, and helped analyze the results. Blake is committed to the idea of decision making by consensus, and sees public involvement as a determining factor in the success of public projects.
