Project Background

Weber Basin Water Conservancy District has set a goal to reduce water usage by 25 percent per capita by 2050. In partnership with the Bureau of Reclamation, State of Utah and Utah State University, Weber Basin is installing meters help track progress.

The new meters are part of a water conservation effort that will inform residents of their secondary water use. This is the first phase in an effort to meter all secondary water users. In 2009, a policy was implemented to meter all new connections.

This project is in line with Weber Basin's is charged with the task of developing sufficient water supply and facilities to meet the needs of current and future populations within its boundaries.
